Well, one of my favourite activities is photography, so why not write a journal entry about this topic? I don't want to say, that I'm a professional, but my photos aren't bad, are they?
// The camera and its equipment
In general I'm using a digital cam (Sony DSC-P51). I bought it 2 years ago. But I fastly noticed that the photos weren't sharp enough, so I bought a tripod: Hama Star 8 - not too expensive and not a bad stability. I'm not using filters. Of course I would, but my camera doesn't have this function :/
The second camera is an old (about 20 years old), but it still working well. It is'nt digital, but that's not so important. One negativ aspect is, that the weight is large and it's not as small as my digital camera.
// How to improve the photos
I'm souping up my photos on the popular software "Photoshop". At first I play with the contrast and the brightness. Then I try to correct the shades. If the photo still looks bad, then I make it grey. When I have a sky on the photo, I mark it and make it blurred, so there aren't any pixels any more. If there's something on the photo which disturbs, you can try to disable it with the airbrush and the right color. I don't think I could help you, but there are thousands of workshops and tutorials on the internet
// What I want to have...
... is an SLR camera. It's a camera which is half digital and half analog. But I haven't enough money, so this can wait
